Most states and territories enforce a maximum +2" on original wheel diameter. This is another one of those occasions where people only read part of the legislation, ie "as long as rolling diameter is within X %" and forget to read the rest of it.
You also see the same with noise and emissions regulations, people think that the motor vehicle regulations are the only ones that apply, but the EPA has powers in this area as well..........

Regards, Andrew.

Which ones? NSW & VIC don't.

The outside diameter of the wheel and tyre combination must be no more than 15mm over the largest diameter
wheel and tyre combination specified for the vehicle and not more than 15mm below the smallest diameter wheel
and tyre combination specified for the vehicle.

That's assuming the speedo was accurate BEFORE you changed the wheels.

does anyone knows what is the actual tyre size for the rims of the verada ei 16" rims?

I am looking for alternative tyres.

215/60 R16's is what it says on my placard last time i checked.. and i have now 225/35 R20's which according to all the calculators is 1.1mm larger in diameter..

a friend can resite word for word the legalities with tyre/rims sizing from the QLD booklet.. and also vehicle ride height.. contrary to what people might say.. the minimum height a car can be (solid parts of the car, mudflaps excluded) is 100mm FULLY loaded.. that is with all seats occupied.. and a full tank of fuel.. MOST of the time however you can usually quickly get out of the car if you do get pulled over.. and they don't say anything..

Just fitted 245/45/17's on Ray's titanium rims's (17 x 8) that I got off mate's v35 skyline 350GT -he went for 18's, I was still on stock 16's. He was running 225 front, I had to equalise -bigger fitted :-)
They fit beautifully! no rubbing anywhere/full lock etc -must be good offset to fit that size rim? will get pics up tomorrow.
After driving on stock 16x6's for last 18 months, the difference is astounding..... lost for words

I have some Continental 265/35/18 95W Sport tyres on 18 inch Chromies that fitted fine at rear of my TJ AWD. I dont know if they would fit at front though. They came with the car but only had Champiro 91 load rated on the front rims so took off.

Not sure how to measure offset properly, so wont try...

However all else is good -no scrubbing, feels great!

I never thought I'd have such a nice handling car for so little effort!!
