ill be replacing the factory battery this week in the XR8, im also wanting to upgrade the terminals, can anybody recommend some good battery terminals?

Stinger or Aerpro usually cater for my needs. Although I got mine from a US Ebay site...Gold plated 2 x 0ga and 2 x 8ga outputs.

I would say for price and availability check the aerpro website

Yeh i had Aerpro gold terminals on my KJ which i got off TUFFTR
The positive terminal also had a built in digital voltmeter

Make sure you regulary give them a clean.

Gold plated terminals are great, but the positive tends to get corrosion build up regulary, due to the difference in the gold + lead on the battery terminal, and running a DC current.

Wouldnt worry about 0AWG output unless you running a big stereo, stinger comes with quite a few 8AWG outputs plus main output, being either 0AWG, 1AWG, 2AWG or 4AWG.

whats classified as a big stereo? i have 2 amps, 2 subs, splits and 6x9s.

To me, a normal 'enthusiasts' system consists of 1 amp and 1 or 2 subs.
having 2 amps is on the large side for normal, but not at all extreme.

Unless they are both Earthquake D2000's or something :)

I've bought terminals from Jaycar in the past too - sound much the same as the Aerpro ones, even have one with the digital voltmeter too.
As Ers said, corossion isn't pretty on them, although it only looks like staining, but it's green!
The one I use most also includes a nice silicone boot over the top so it stays clean and tidy too (other than the corrosion).

I'm jealous - wish I could be spending money on subs + amps :)

Example for every 100 watts RMS you pull thats 10 amps, so if you have a 1000w mono and a 4x 100w 4 channel so thats 140amps, 0 awg wire can carry a max of 300amps but in my installs for every 200amps i use 1 run of 0 awg wire.
