Hi

My son wants a Magna. Viewed one on Saturday that had a pretty good body and a very good interior. What it may need are the valve stem oil seals replaced (puffs a bit of blue smoke after idling for a while). Approx how much to get this done? Also I've noticed the gear selector (auto) hasn't got a stopper between Drive and Neutral. Presumably there should be one and this can be fixed. Again, is this a complex job and does anyone have any idea as to the cost?
Lastly there is an obvious oil leak from the passenger (nearside) of the engine. It's not been cleaned off so I can't see exactly where it's coming from but would anyone have an idea as to whether this is a common problem?

Car is a 93 or 94 TR SE.

Thanks.

Valve stem seals will be about $200 to get done with a mechanic (I think)

The gear selector is like that in all the 2nd gen magnas (TR/TS and KR/KS Veradas) as far as I know.

Oil leak could just be a rocker cover..... not too hard to get done

Pretty sure it was like that in my 3rd Gen Verada as well, and it's the same in my stepdads Falcon, no button press needed to slip between Drive and Neutral.

Pete found out how annoying that can be once :bowrofl:
