Hey guys, about to buy a set of front calipers from some dude on EvolutionOz that were off an Evo 4.

Just making sure to ask if they fit the front with no modifications/spacers ok. He says there arent any lines for the calipers, so would the ones off my magna (TJ2 Sports) fit on properly, or could I go down and get some braided lines made up? What should I ask the people at ABS to make me in regards to the connection for the braided lines? Ive searched around on the forums, but i cant really find anything specific to this.

Oh yeah, I plan on getting DBA 4000 wiper slot rotors. Anywhere that sells them cheap? And what brake pads do you recommend to complement the DBA 4000's?

Cheapest place I've found for discs is Hoppers Stoppers (http://www.hoppers.com.au/). They'll post plus if you tell Shannon you're from AMC, he 'should' look after you. They can make lines as well.(ADR approved)

:stoopid:

They gave me awesome price on DBA4000 rotors and braided lines.

For pads, look at the QFM HP-X. GSL Rally Sport will do them for a good price for ya

Evo4 calipers and rotors fit on the front. I have them on my TH. The are EXACTLY the same as the Ralliart/AWD front calipers.

TJTime

im pretty sure TE and TJ have different lines. can anybody elaborate? or better still, can anybody give me a solid answer with the caliper's lines? nobody has actually said whether or not the lines are exactly the same.

BJ31OS

they will be a direct fit i can say that 100% on a TE as wollongongverada just put a set on his KE with has the same brakes, the standard evo 4 lines and also these were a direct fit for my TF

Also the brakes of a few Pajeros fit aswell (same caliper). The model round the 2000 mark. The 2nd gen Pajeros from memory

If you have the single pot front calipers, the standard EVO brake lines will NOT fit. I had to get custom ones made up.

See this thread for some more help if you want...http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=52231&highlight=EVO

hmmm just checked, mine are EVO IIV not EVO IV so I may be wrong about the EVO IV!!
There are pics in there though of the different brake lines.

There is no roman numeral IIV, it's III. Evo 3 and 4 use the same brakes. Evo 5 onward use the 4 pot Brembo calipers.

Yo guys, I've been offered the full set of Evo 4 calipers for a really good price.

One question: Do the rear calipers fit in without modification??

Hey does this mean the front twin pots off a AWD jap spec diamante (3rd gen shape) would be a strait fit to my KE Diamante (Verada spec) ? only reason im not sure is the jap spec ones had the different front strut setup ,ie instead of strut/spring bolting to top of hub, it bolts to bottom with with a massive hole for driveshaft.

Evo 3s are 4stud, evo 4s are 5stud dude.

But i Do believe the calipers are the same in size.

What does the stud arrangement have to do with the brake caliper? Or am I missing something?

Yo, lemme ask again, do rear Evo 4 calipers fit the back of the Magna? I've had a look on DBA and the rotors are different between evo 4 and Ralliart Magna.

to cyber ill get a pic of them, gonna do a measure up. at the local pickapart there are always 1st gen AWD Diamantes (2nd gen magna shape) and 2nd gen AWD diamantes (3rd gen magna/verada). the front suspension on them is multilink not macPherson strut. the difference i can see is the outside of the rotor ,around the hub of it has got ventilation holes, same with back.

look for the hat height... I would lean towards them not fitting, but I've been wrong before.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't the Evo 4 brakes the same as the AWD set-up?

DBA catalogue is a bit confusing actually. They list the same part number for both cars in standar discs, but then have a smaller disc in the 4000 series:nuts::wtf:

If it's the same as the AWD, the rears won't fit without a spacer.

Hey, I have pictures from the seller on what the calipers look like.

Can you guys tell me what you think about them just on photos? Apart from the lines, is there anything else I will need? I think its missing the little metal shims in the front ones. Are they easy to get?

Same calipers as kr-ks veradas, some pajero's, evo 1,2,3,4 and also galant vr4 (except earlier japspec 1987-89 vr4 as they had single piston)

Dave

Same calipers as kr-ks veradas,

Not sure about that, as the KR-KS calipers (and any 2nd gen magna with ABS) took a 276mm rotor rather than the 298mm rotor of the 3rd gens/evo 4 calipers

The caliper is the same, it's the bracket that changes to suit rotor diameter.

As Veradabeast said, said caliper, diff bracket.

Na I didnt, but I presume they would, seeing as they are the exact same setup as from the AWD/ralliarts as I've been told

don't presume. AWD rear rotors don't fit on FWD cars without a spacer.
