View Full Version : WillowBank Results.?
Hay all
I finally went to willowbank and didnt blow up my box. Cars travelled 230km clutch is slowly on its way out. Mods that have been done are rear muffler replaced with straight pipe. K and N panal filter. Best time of 15.003. Still felt like i could get a better take off. Ill post all of my runs slips up. I blew out my right hand engine mount better than a gearbox i think:badgrin:.

Thats a very good time but you can get high 14's no worries.
Boozers TL got a 14.86 standard, pretty damn quick!

Quarter mile is all about 60ft times. Yours was 2.3 on your good run I think (pic is quite blurry) get that down to 2.2 and you'll do 14's.
nice one Kurt!
Didn't you recently get a new clutch though...?

not a bad time, with some practice you should see 14's...
last time I was at willowbank we all know what happened :eek2:
although it is great fun!
keep enjoying it mate..

New car bro. Back to standard clutch but this ones slowly on its way out but not slipping yet
oh rite! No idea you got a new car
Now mastered my take offs were i was lacking now ready to crack 14s
what's ur take off approach....
what's ur take off approach....
Before i would drop it at 2rpm and the the revs would drop down the 1rpm then accelerate. Now drop it at 2rpm ease on the throttle and let out clutch so the revs dont drop they only rise feels alot faster now.
what's ur take off approach....
Youll get into the 14s easily mate u need to rev your car out more i know it feels like it looses power past 5500rpm. But if u rev it out to 6500rpm i was getting .2 .3 second quicker quater mile times.
ill give it a try, after i have a new clutch.. we are definitely gunna have to meet up down there man

This thread has got me thinking... I've seen some 3L 24v's down south run flat 15's, but I'm running consistant 15.8's with no spare tyre or amps.
My 60ft time is 2.457 with an ET of 15.871 @ 88.40mph.
I get a bit of spin off the line but I can't seem to control it too much without losing launch speed. This is a 4 speed tiptronic auto for those playing at home...

I don't think you can expect much better with the 4 speed auto mate. I know the 4 speed in my TL is a dog of a gearbox. Your 60ft time is what's hurting you. Every 0.1 off your 60ft time = 0.3 off your quarter mile time. For instance, I ran 13.1 with a 1.9 60ft time, if I was to launch it harder I know it's capable of a 1.7 60ft time which would bring my ET down to around 12.5 - 12.6.

just a question for research sake, what would a good 60ft time for a fwd manual magna be, (and any others for that matter)

Yeah I'm probably expecting a little too much from my crapass slipping auto box :( Needs a manual gearbox I think!

Anything 2.2 or under for a FWD Magna.
Other cars - all depends on setup, tyres, AWD/RWD, suspension etc. I know a lot of the Evo boys rip of 1.6-1.7's pretty consistently in near stock Evos with stock rubber (not always stock clutch tho)
