I have a friend who has a V6 manual(I think) KR Verada wagon, it has been having trouble with stalling frequently. My friend tells me that the problem has been identified a faulty 'Idle Motor', I have searched the workshop manual pdf and it had 0 instances of this term, although it could be called something else.
I tried to tell him that I dont think there is a separate motor to keep the car idling and its up to the motor to have enough fuel going in to stop the engine from stalling. I thought it would be an idle speed control part if anything, not that I would really know.
Can someone please tell me, does this part (or something that could be described under the same name) actually exist?
Thanks

It's a part of the throttle body. It's a little motor inside that srews in and out to allow more or less air in around the actual butterfly to adjust the idle speed.
EDIT: best way to get an idea of what one does, go look at an old carby fed car (like pre 80's) and you will see a little idle screw, this has now been replaced with a motor that gets adjusted via the ECU mainly when the car is cold to bring the idle speed up to help it warm up.

Usually a rough idle might be your oxysensor, i know i had trouble with my car and realised i forgot to replace it in two years, swapped it over and it ran like a dream.. Just one idea to get you going

Yes. Its called the Idle speed control (ISC) its located on the throttle body, with a 6 pin plug at the rear. 2 x 8mm bolts hold it in, or crack it with a screwdriver. this lets more or less air move through the TB effecting idle
ISC is adjustable yea? May just need adjusting and not replacing... I know mine did when I put the new TB on.

Correct, but maybe he was talking about the idle screw?
TPS can be adjusted but no need to ever really unless it comes out of adjustment.
