i was just wondering if anyone knows how to recallobrate my speedo.it seems to be 6 kmph to quik. so when i need to run 50 it shows as 56 on my speedo before i actually feel like im travelling 50.

My dodgey mate did it by plugging in his GPS, getting the speed from that and then just whacking the needle (from the speedo) on the right speed at the right time. Not sure if there is any other way to do it really. How come it's too quick?

Have you gotten new tyres since this started?

Could always take the needle off and put it back in the right spot

i might have an i dea of fixing this problem of mine... comment if you think it will work......well you know how you can set a max speed... will that beep(alarm) exactly on the speed set or few kmph faster...... iv tried this on my mates tj 2000 magna and it alarms exactly when it hits the max speed i set. though on my car i set it to 100kmph and it beeps when i am travelling at 106 kmph according to my in accurate speedo.....so would this be an accurate way to fix it.???....does your cars beep on the max speed you set or few kmph over

Whatever the speed alarm is set at the car will beep as soon as the set speed is reached
A speed light will shine on the dash (may only be the TL's) and will stay on until your under the speed
A more accurate way would be to use a GPS

My speed alert beeps as soon as the needle goes over the set speed, and according to a GPS, my speedo is out by about 2kph at 80 and 90.
So that would mean that the speed alert beeps when the speed is reached, rather than exceeded.

Interesting - how does the speed alert know the speed the car is travelling better than the speedo? Very wierd.

Sounds like your needle is off by 6kph in that case, but I'd test it at all speeds - eg: if your speedo shows about 32 when the speed alarm goes off, that's a difference of 6.66 % which is the same as 106@100kph.
That sounds more like a wheel diameter size being incorrect, but if it's 36@30 and 106@100 then it sounds like the needle being misaligned.

But I think you're already on to that idea. :)

you could use a diagnostic computer, they can provide a realtime readout of vehicle speed. could require some deft hands to set the needle, though

Just take it to a gauge specialist. Same thing happened when I tried to install new white dials. They only charged me like $30 and he re-calibrated everything.

i had the same problem, what i did is took the needles off again, and put them back on with the tip of the needle pointing down,
then going next to my partners car doing 50 / 80 / 100 and repeated the process... its all about trial and error... but yeah its most probably got something to do with your needles.
Also, i got told (could be wrong) that you shouldn't go by your GPS speed, because it may not be connected to all the sattelites so it may give you a false reading, i tried using that excuse with a cop once, he pulled me over doing 65 in a 60, and i said "well my gps said i was doing 60" and he replied with "yeah ok, well what did your speedo on your dash say because that is what you should be reading your speed from" so yeah.. thats when i did research on GPS speedo...

im pretty sure you just turn your key on then put the needle resting on the stopper, i mean if your doing 0km, then putting it on zero is just as accurate as doing it at 50km, just alot safer. try it, cant hurt!

The cluster internals are expecting the weight of the needle, so it wont work.

On the old TS I just set it via the GPS, set it at 100 though.
