Okay..
So I bought one off Lucifer.. Had a few dramas, but problem sorted..
Now I have a few questions.. After soaking through the 150 odd posts in the SF threads, I need to know if this thing is possibly damaging any components inside my TF..?
For some reason, she seems to want to roar, but doesnt really go anywhere anymore! When first installed, she loved getting up past 3000/3500.. Now she just screams and prods along..
The only way to check this i'm guessing is on a dyno..?
Where can I get the rear bracket from..?
Would I be safer just going back to the standard plenum..?

No great mech insight but I would check for splits or loose vacuum hoses and throttle cable linkage adjustment.

from what i have seen the ports dont line up at all..... plus the shitfighter, i mean streetfighter, is only meant for half throttle performance

that manifold does what it was designed to do very well. Adds gobs of low down torque to aid auto awds off the line. Not surprised it strangles top end performance in a fwd. Would hate to see what it does to a
manual...

1, What were the dramas that you had initially?
2. I doubt it will be damaging anything if it's been installed correctly.
3. PM Tradewind to see if any brackets have been made up yet?
4. If you're handy & confident of changing it back, do. If your car returns to normal - it was the S/F. If not, then you've got other issues.
5. I doubt that this S/F has actually gone backwards from where you believe it was initially. As Ishrub has said, have you checked all hoses to see that they're still intact, etc?

ive got one, i dont think it has damaged my car, perhaps there is somthing more going on, i will take mine off soon, and do some port matching, as the workmanship was soooo crap :bash:
perhaps this will help topend breathing, as it will create better airflow

Initial dramas were the lack of having a rear bracket for the heater pipe, it put a little stress on the thermostat and it kept popping out! Lucifer did a bit of a bush mechanic job at 12am with an angle grinder and problem sorted to an extent! Replaced the thermostat housing, pipe and o-ring myself and all is sorted!
I've PMd him and got no reply.. So i guess I'll stick with the bush mechanic bracket for now..
Not too keen on swapping it over..
I've sussed out as much as I can, and I don't see any dramas! Might check plugs, fuel filter etc.. See if that's where the issue lies.
I was stressing a little after reading the SF thread.. Either than that, I've been quite happy with the difference! I've lost my extractors and exhaust so the loss in power is weird.. Induction noise is awesome though!!

Heater pipe, thermostat? Bracket? No idea where these come into it, at all.
So, your car stopped revving/ pulling after you removed your exhaust/ extractors? Or am I missing something here?

yeah i dont know how you have a problem with a thermostat, the only issues relating to coolent was the TB coolent line being a tad too short, i think you may have done somthing wrong. and yes the brackets are a problem that needs attention.
post up some pics, so you say you have taken your extractors off?

If the fuel pressure reg line develops a split or leak you will get the symptoms you describe (in first post). This happened to the installation on Stacky's car for a week or 2 until the found the problem. They replaced the vac line and all good.
Could it be your problem, who know's but you can check it out.
As mentioned by Alscal, how did all those other non involved items become involved?

in a nutshell from my understanding the op question should of been "I removed my extractors and exhaust and replaced with stock and now ive lost power, why?" and we then answer " because you removed your extractors and exhaust and went to stock items" also i dont see any bracket relating to the thermostat, it sits beside the front bank, passengers side, not sure how your blowing it out, must be a huge amount of pressure. i think you need to list what you have done to the car in order, and when the exact problem started.

No.. The exhaust comment was more of a side note.. I have NOW removed the extractors & exhaust and she's lost some balls yet again! So it's a little weird having lost a little more power.
The heater pipe bolts to the bracket behind the plenum, thats the pipe that kept pissing out water!
Lucifer and I were wondering why the hell there was water pissing outta the thermostat, where the heater pipe goes into. I changed 2 x O-Rings & 2 x Heater Pipes.. Same thing!

it lost more power because you removed the exhaust and extractors. the thermostat is housed in a housing that the top radiator connects too. the hose you are talking about connects to the throttle body to heat it, which aids cold running economy. i would simply put your old manifold (standard) and extractors/exhaust back on. if there is no improvement start checking all engine systems, like the dizzy, leads, plugs then fuel filter, injectors, FPR etc until you can find a fault, it takes time but its good to give it a good check over anyway.

Initial problem was O Ring on the thermostat heater pipe and the thermostat housing.. Go figure!
New problem is the plugs on the rear bank, they're starting to foul up quite bad! I cleaned em up the best I could and she runs a little better!
Will be going in for 200k service, timing belt/water pump etc.
Thanks people!
