After reading the 3rdG V 380 thread and seeing some times i though I'd give this free GPS based app a go.Started with some times around the 7.4 0-100 (same as I got with a stop watch) then remembered I had left a bag of potting soil and some other heavyish stuff in the boot so they got removed and then pulled some 7.3's and 2's. Went to another location for some 1/4's and the road there seemed grippier enabling better starts, you could tell the difference by the seat of your pants that it was hooking up better.Times started with a 7.2 and a 15.5 1/4 but the start felt crap and the box changed to 4th.Started getting some good starts and held the box in 3rd and posted 7.0's , 6.95 and a best of 6.85 0-100 and a 15.15 1/4 time.I did have a couple of issues though and one was the MPH for the 1/4 times as it was telling me I was cracking 100mph ,which sounds a bit fast for that time. TYPE 40, what mph were you getting with your times? Also it started having dumb spells after a bit of use and would not read correctly(maybe cos its the free version or GPS issues?) but after a reboot of sorts it returned to consistent readings,so I just kept rebooting the app after a couple of uses to make sure.A cool feature is that it starts timing when it sensors the car moving so no buttons to press so i guess more consistency? Paid versions have exporting features and a horsepower calculation.Anyway whilst I doubt it to be 100% accurate it was fun and could be handy for guys with stockers as a comparison tool to evaluate their mods.

You could try dynolicious as a comparison to see if you get similar results

What you doing up at this hour, watching the GP too? Yeah that app looks nice but its $16 as opposed to being free.Gets some good raps though and would be good to compare.Have you tried it?

I've used both apps with similar results and a best of 6.87 0-100 and 15.39 1/4 mile using g-tach, posted times here http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63808&page=5

Dynolicious can be very touchy to start, tried it in my brothers 12sec Soarer and kept triggering a start just when stalling it up so couldn't get a decent reading.

Wheres this 3rdg v 380 thread BTW?

I see SUPRA that you too were cracking 100 mph. These cars have a healthy top end i guess assuming this is correct..My previous drag racing experience at timed tracks in other vehicles has seen 101-4 mph speeds but they netted low to flat 13 sec times.Have seen high 12's from other cars pulling those mph.Its all in the start I guess.Makes you wish we had LSD's.

I got a app for a my HTC Magic called aDyno. Some features are timed runs (0-100kmh times), dynometer, gmeters etc.

I find this app brilliant and it didnt cost a thing. Thank god to opensource apps :)
