Hey guys,

just got my self a air fuel ratio gauge , now i didn't come with any instruction so the wires that are comming out of it are:

White- Its marked with an arrow
Red- marked with D (which i power)
Green- no markings
Black-earth
orange-marked with 2150

now i know where the red and black go , but where do the other go and which wire do i tap into the O2 Sensor

thanks

Perry, Been there done that, Serioulsy not worth it.
$265 buys a wideband o2 gauge with bosch wideband o2 sensor to give you an accurate AFR readout.

The narrowband one you have will just flicker from lean to stoitch to rich its just really useless.

green or white could be sensor wires and orange would be headlight dimmer going off old gauges ive wired up...what brand is it?

if its still sold in shops right now, just go in and ask to see the instructions,
but as i said, re-sell it and buy a wideband, actually tells you your AFR, 14.4, 15.6, mine so accurate its what the tuner used before changing AFR's

k go into supercheap then and ask to have a look.
id get whatever you can for it and put it towards a wideband...mine was only $265...gauge...sensor...wiring....

Why would you swap it the gauge works fine and runs perfect seems a waste to buy another one for $265 just go to an auto electric and they will fit it for you it cost me $40 to get it fitted

The difference is a narrowband o2 sensor provides no useable information at all

A wideband is used as a tuning tool and also to keep a very accurate eye on your actuall air fuel ratios.

Anyhoo, like I said perry, go into supercheap, ask to have a look at the A/F gauge, take out the instructions and jot down the wires...

ill have a crack at wiring it up toomro arvo, where does the o2 sensor come in to the cabin i can tap into

Should be in the passenger footwell of the center console
Pull back the carpet and take off the metal plate
Should seen a flat 4 pin harness, this is the O2 sensor wire
I think its a white/green wire you tap into

agreed, a narow band is good for for omg bro look its using more fuel than before'

a wideband actually gives a data readout that is useful for monitoring and tuning

I know its more expensive, but Ive been there and done that. spent $100 on a narrowband gauge, sold it for half, what a waste.
the sensor in this ALONE is worth about $200 so its great value.
to have one working on a standard magna they supply you a bung all you gotta do is give it + and - and put the sensor in..

Must of tapped into the wrong wire mate. Have you got the 3rd gen service manual. should be a signal wire., maybe not the right one

i've come across this thread

http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35169&highlight=oxygen+sensor+wiring

i riged up a test light (tail light globe and some wire) and couldn;t get any siginal from the plug apart from the power one

the only thing it won't do is read. if you put the siginal wire from the gauage onto a power wire it works (neddle goes all the way around)

so i'm beat

perry, maybe the o2 sensor is dead. i have an autometer gauge in my car (only have it because i like flashy things, and hooked it up to see if the o2 sensor was working properly, and have access to a microtech wideband if i need it). mine only has 3 wires though and it fluctuates when cruising. when you lift off it goes to lean, and when you floor it it goes to rich. so either the o2 sensor is dead or the other wires for the sensor aren't hooked up properly.
