Hey guys

Ive spent most of the morning trying to work out a way to turn my front diamante indicators to clear ones.

Firstly yes i have used the search function and cant find anything. Im sure this has been covered before though.

So far i've removed the orange plastic bit, and i have cut a standard magna lens down to the size of the diamante ones. I cant work out how to finish it off so it looks factory (around the edges). or even if i sould use another lens over the inner clear one that they already have if that makes sence

Has anybody here done it and have a close up photo of how its done?

any help would be greatly appreciated!

I've made 3 sets. they all came out so crap i went back to orange ones and wont go back lol.
1st time was with clear perspex i heated and shaped to the lens - note, do not do.
2nd time was with a TR indicator, shaved down and sikaflexed to the indicator housing - looked terrible
3rd time again TR indicator but tried to paint the outer edges, again, fail.

best thing i can think of is to paint the inside lip with black paint feintly as to hide the glue underneath.

its gonna be hard to get 100% right. maybe stick them on, let them dry, and then start shaving the edges?

thanks paul

ive cut down the magna lens pretty well considering, cut it using a dremal. im thinking mabe using sikaflex around the edges of the standard inner lens on the diamante indicator, but somehow doing it so it looks neat enough to leave like that. i somehow dont think that will work though..

i would be happy with the orange if they were like new. the ones i have a bit scratched up and faded. would be nice if arftermarket copies were avaliable somewhere..

Yeah understand what ya mean. if you paint the inside lip with some good spray paint, you can sort of do a hackjob with the sika and should still look nice from outside.

hunt around on trademe.co.nz for another set of indicators..
one guy wanted $100NZ for some, which i gave him shit for, but look around i got 2 to my door for $30AU.
have you tried giving the orange D lens a polish?

nah i havent tried that. I initially took the headlights out to change one of my guards as it had a dent in it. when i was putting it back together i didnt have the indicators in and from a distance looked so much better without the orange, thats what got me started. should of thought this through first haha

if its a TR indicator thats of no use as the lens is what he needs
