I am about to buy an Auto Boot Popper.

I have done a TJ boot mod on my TE. Just wondering whether it can be done, and what I would actually need.

I have done a search, but couldn't find the exact right info.
It comes with a bracket/mach and cable, and possibly a harness too.

Then I would only need to buy the correct Keyless remote....

Or am I living in fantasy land?

From what I know, the remote boot release is a function of the body electronics module. Unless you upgrade that (and I'm not at all sure if they are interchangeable between models) it won't recognise your new key or the electric boot release. Also, the loom for the boot release may not have been included when your vehicle was manufactured.

Happy to be corrected of course, but yeah I wouldn't rush into it just yet lol.

You could get an aftermarket central locking kit. One i got off ebay came with a boot release.

All depends if you want to have to replace the current central locking.

Rick (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/member.php?u=6385) did this on his car, he used a TJ boot release kit, he just mounted it on, then put a button in his glove box, the button was the same stock one. and i know you can program your after market alarm system to open boot, Rick (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/member.php?u=6385) told me how to do it... send him a PM and he might be able to help out... i will also SMS him and ask him how he did it.
