I'm getting my front rotors machined and will be replacing my front discs.
I am going to use Bendix GCT.
My usual guy wants $200:hmm:
I reckon thats high as the discs are around $80 leaves $120 for machining

Any issues?

I'm a little confused... why would you machine the rotors and then replace them? Do you mean you'll be machining the rotors and replacing the pads with Bendix GCTs?

$200 seems a reasonable enough price, I was quoted $420 for my Magna for GCTs all round plus machining all four rotors.

I emailed GSL RallySport back in late April 2009 about QFM HPX pads for a 380 and this was their response:

"The 380 pads isn't a pad that QFM does. The only way we could supply HPX pads for the 380 would be to supply you an interim set of pads, get you to send your originals, then get QFM to reline those.

As far as a cheap interim pad goes, all that's really available is RDA pads ($37) or Bendix GCT ($64).

Regards,
Greg"

Things may have changed by now.

Has anyone run the RDA's yet? They seem pretty cheap but are they good? It would be nice if they made a HPX pad for the 380 Mohit. I think there would be a few takers here. They obviously are made for magnas so are they better on a magna than the ultimates and at what price?

Getting Bendix GCT's fitted all round today + rotors machined. The guy who is doing them thinks that the GCT's aren't up to the chase for a large FWD vehicle especially towing. Anyone with them on done any towing? He also reckons that QFM are bringing out a pad for the in early-mid December which will have a greater temperature range than the GCTs. If they are no good on the front I may go back and get the new ones on front only.

380matey, GCT's were pretty good IMO in my FWD magna. They always had good bite and no noticable fade on the road. Went for a spirited drive through macquarie pass which is very heavy on brakes on the downhill and they did very well. Not sure about towing tho.

QFM HP-X are already a better temperature range than the GCT's, that is what I run now and I couldnt be happier. No noise, no dust, fantastic bite and cheaper too!!!

Cheers mate. I noticed too that they dont require bedding in either. Happy days. Only done around 100 km so far so I will have to assess them and see how they go with the camper behind soon. Stay tuned. If they are no good I will def go and get the QFM's in and have a try.
