A few issues.

Battery light comes on and off every so often, Mainly when i'm parked on the side of the road (with the indicator and radio on) idling. Sometimes it comes on while driving too.
A/c isn't cold, I I'm guessing it needs to be regassed (if that's the right word?)
A Strong smell of petrol after i shut of the engine.
Horrible Fuel economy i only got 350kms out of a full tank.

It's got 188XXXkms on it so i know it's coming up to the big 200xxx service, What should i expect from that? What would need to be done etc and an estimate cost would be appriciated too!!

First issue means the alternator might be stuffed, I recommend you have it checked or check it yourself using a multimeter.

Yes you need the aircon regassed. :)

Strong smell of petrol and very bad fuel economy might indicate you have a fuel leak, check the return hose from the fuel rail, I wouldn't think it would be the hose coming to the fuel rail as this is a hose that runs at a much higher pressure and you would probably have already noticed if all of you fuel was being squirted all over your engine bay :)

However, bad fuel economy can be attributed to many things. Has the car been regularly serviced? Normally you shouldn't have economy problems if the serivable parts are kept in good condition (spark plugs, air filter, oil changes which then keeps the engine internals in good condition, etc, etc).

Also, does it blow any sort of smoke at idle? Does it blow anything when you rev it while at idle? How does it smell when you rev it?

It's got okayish service history.. Well i have a few tax invoices from Lube Mobile! The most recent service was in August of 08-Transmission service,replaced rocket cover gaskets,replaced rear camshaft.

I haven't noticed any extra smell when i rev the engine, and i'm 90% sure it doesn't blow smoke!

There is a few drops of oil on the driveway though... :(

Yeah but that tells you nothing, test it with the car running, and get it load tested.
If your car starts fine every morning it's not the battery, its your alternator

yes money on the alternator, just get one from a wreckers, or a recoed one.

Yeah starts fine every morning, it hasn't failed yet. I was hoping it's not the alternator damn...
