Hey guys, the last couple weeks my car's been making a weird screeching sound from the engine and after taking the timing belt cover off today it seems to be coming from that region.

The belt also seems to be jumping around a tiny bit before it runs around the pulley or whatever it is on the front bank lol and i'm not sure if it used to do that or not. Being the timing belt area it's got me quite worried so here's a video, anyone know what it could be?

Also it could be possibly related to this - http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=71651

edit: yes i'm quite aware my engine bay needs a clean, doin it in a minute hopefully lol

sounds like a dry idler bearing, the one between the front cam sprocket and the crank shaft sprocket. i know that water pumps can make noise if worn but i always thought it was more of a howling noise.

yes it is, but i degreased it all underneath the car after I posted that and it seems that it's really slow leak caus hardly any oil's built up in the last month or so (including a 2000km trip lol)

btw the video makes it sound a lot worse than it really is lol
