hey guys my drivers side lower suspension arm is leaking a viscous clear fluid from the bush of one mount. I am wondering if anyone has any idea if the bush is mostly fluid filled or rubber with a little fluid. Reason i ask is i cant replace it for awhile and there is no play in it at the moment, but im wondering if they fail suddenly and result in alot of movement, or retain a little integrity. cheers guys heres a pic

Yes same thing is happening with my one (both of them), what are the implications?

Thats what im hopin to find out, wondering if it becomes wobbly once all the fluid is out or just a small amount if play that will just affect tyre wear.

I'd replace them ASAP. If the lower control arm can more freely then it will pull your steering out of whack and ruin the handling. Not something I'd put on the 'she'll be right' list.
Cheers.

Can you post any more pics?
I don't believe the bush itself could leak like that. Is there any fluid on the top, or the other side of the bush?

They are a fluid filled bush i had to replace mine a while ago for the same thing.Apparently mine had been leaking for a while and it didn't really handle any differently so i don't think you need to rush out and replace them immediately but i would change them as soon as you can afford too.

Well, if it's the bush leaking, you can't buy a new bush from Mitsu, as they only sell the complete control arm - bush included.
Maybe time to upgrade to a whiteline caster kit or a caster/ anti-lift?

ha ha i wish, will probably get a decent second hand one from pickapart, about 10 bucks. very tight budget at the moment . and yeah its definitely from the bush, although there is no huge rip or hole, its come away from the metal on top. no gap though or displacement. oh what do mitsi charge you guys?, i would want to get two if i did new.
