the same thing happened to mine before i even bought it! i had a pre purchase inspection done and the guy found it was leaking under pressure so he told the dealer. the dealer told the service department and they ended up replacing the seal and putting a brand new water pump in. it cost $660 all up but when i went to buy the car they tried to make me pay for it. i didnt even know it had happened. I ended up having to pay or else the dealer would have resinded on the deal but i took them to the department of fair trading tribunal and got my money back. the dealer got fired because of it plus i got a new pump! any hows, finished the story its a big job and unless your a mechanic i wouldnt try. sorry bud. theres just to much stuff in the way to do it without a hoist plus your water pumps probably stuffed as well.

hmmm, the seal im talking about is the one behind the harmonic balancer. I can get acces to it from underneath by taking the 2 belts off, and removing that brace.... But I cant figure out how to stop the pulley from spinning to get it off. Since its a manual (2.6L) I thought that the clutch would not let the engine turn...
thanx for the help guys.

It is easy, does not matter of a 4 or 6.
Get a rattle gun and remove the bolt in the centre, the pully, wilt a little effort should pull off.
Where are you, Melb or other states, if in Melb you are most welcome to drop around and do it here.
Cheers
