Hey Guys,

Basically iv been doing my manual conversion and i identified this little problem, the plastic has fallen away and the rest of it looks very rough, as a result i can see the ball bearings. When i turn the steering wheel they dont move neither do they move when i lift it up or down. Will this cause me many problems? and can i wait until my 200k to fix it?

how far off is the 200k service?

i assume its just the dust cover thats perished. if the steering feels fine the bearings should be ok.

when you say the balls dont move, they dont spin at all? or you mean loose like moving around?

Hmmm yeah I agree proably a dust cover. Not much you can do, all I can suggest is maybe pick the plastic bits out and cover the ball bearings with like an EP grease just to stop dust getting in, but stay away from any water that may wash the grease away. Hmmm yeah my 2 c...
