Hi,i found a auto4spd transmission on trading post,its still there at the minute,asking $350,it says only low ks 50,000,i thought i would grab it,rang the guy,he said check the number on my box.it read F4A5AKIAIZ.with VH2715,stamped under.He rang me back and said different number,he reckons mine is 5spd.Nah,i said its a 4spd.then he says i would have computer probs, it would not go right.Also the add said it was TE 2005 MODEL.But thats not right mine is a tw and ists 11 month 2004.can anyone explain,why it wouldnt run in my car......thankyou

Second of all, please tidy up your post. It's extremely hard to decipher.

Provided your car has a 4 speed auto in it now, I don't see any reason another 4 speed auto won't work.

Question: Why do you need another gearbox already?

Put it this way mate, if you're looking for help with a technical question, you're going to want to post it in the most legible way possible, not only to help out other people who might be able to help you, but to help you get the right response from those people. If I can't read a question I won't usually try to help, it's not anyone judging you, it's just frustrating trying to decypher some people's writing.

Anyway; I found a thread using the ever handy search feature, a member was selling an auto box out of a TL magna.

Has the same kind of code your prospective box has.

Apart from that I'm fairly sure I read somewhere that the clutch packs in the two boxes were different somehow? Madmagna might be able to help us out with that one.
