To those of you who've fitted evo brembos to your magna:

Do you use the caliper mounting brackets off an evo as well, or do the brembos calipers just bolt onto the caliper bracket already on the magna?

What I'm asking is are the caliper mounting brackets the same on evos and magnas, or different?

If they are indeed different, is the bolt spacing still the same at the end the bracket bolts onto the hub?

I thought they were just a straight bolt up?
Only the rear needs a spacer made

yep fronts bolt straight on and you use the caliper mounting that the evo uses to bolt the caliper to the stub axle.

Spacer is required on the rears to centre the rotor in the middle of the caliper

Thanks Jason :) That brings me to the second part of my question - where the mount bolts onto the stub axle, is the bolt spacing/size the same for magnas and evos?

I ask because I'm hoping to fit a brake kit for an evo to my magna. The brake kit in question comes with its own caliper mount - can I assume that if it fits an evo, it will fit a magna?

Kit in question:

If the evo kit doesn't fit, they have kits for the various models of 3000GT and Eclipse. Any idea which one would fit the magna? Scroll down for the part numbers list

Front Evo Brembo's bolt straight up. Mounting bolts are different. The Brembos use a different tread pitch (Which I can't remember). You will also need the front brake lines from an Evo.

Rear Brembo's require a 3.7mm spacer between the hub and rotor to space the rotor out. Ralliart & AWD will not need the spacer, direct fit. You will need custom brake lines for the rear. Fittings on the rear brake lines differ between Evo and Magna.

Check that your wheels fit with the larger callipers.

Well the EVO7 fronts i had for my magna (before they got stolen out of my shed) bolted straight on (calipers and rotors) and i took them personally off the EVO7 when i bought them

Ralliart magnas do require the spacer to fit rear brembos, just like all other FWD magnas.

The standard FWD magna and Ralliart magna use the same "hat" height for the stock rotors (56.5-57mm), hence why both will need a spacer to fit rear brembos

I understand that evo brembo calipers bolt onto the caliper mount that's on the magna. But where the mount bolts onto the stub axle, is the bolt spacing/size the same for evos and magnas? Is my question making any sense without the aid of a diagram?

AFAIK the kit I'm looking at comes with its own caliper mount, which bolts to a stub axle of an evo. Is it a safe assumption that it will bolt up to the stub axle of a magna then?

Front will be fine, nothing to interfere there. It's the rear that may be a problem as the rear knuckle were you bolt the calliper on is definitely different in terms of shape to the EVO (same spacing though) so you may run into clearance problems with the bracket/calliper and the knuckle/hub assembly. It really depends on how their rear bracket design works.

If you are fitting Ksport brakes either 6 or 8 piston, A&B Motorsport at Brookvale, which I think you are familiar with have all the brackets required to fit up a Magna.
