this morning comming into work the car became airborne and when it landed the brakes failed for a second. it felt like the brakes let go and the pedel went dead. it scared the SH#$% outta me cause the car felt like it was speeding up. believe me that toyota accident fashed through my mind.
i might have to write to mitsubishi to let them know cause it was pretty dangerous. the brakes finally grabbed by the time i could get my thoughts back to gether to decide what to do next. cruise control wasn't on at the time. i don't know if the abs was confused or if it was a fault with the car.
I'd say the ABS was confused if you were braking with wheels off the ground, once all 4 wheels were back on the tarmac & turning the ABS would have given the brake control back to you.
Ummmm just a question ....... how do you get airbourne driving to work? :eek2:

MMAL might write back and say that the 380 wasn't intended as an aircraft and that flying was dangerous lol :gfight: I crack myself up! Seriously though it would be the abs as mentioned by Fooz. Easy fix, keep all paws on the ground! I too would be interested as to how one gets airborne otw to work!

TJ sports works for the air force... he has always dreamed to fly... :)
on a serious note, speak to someone at the service centre and see if they have heard of such an event as well.

Where you hard braking at the time? If so, could simply have skidded for a split second as the ABS tried to figure out what was happening...OR did the actually brake peddle drop to the floor like it had lost pressure?

Just sounds like the ABS work'n hard, can feel quite violent through the pedal at times.
