Hey guys,

I just bought a JVC KW-AVX626 HU for my 2nd gen magna. I was just wondering if it is going to fit, as under where the current unit is is like a parcel shelf, and having put the HU in myself im pretty sure it is attached to that center console. I bought the new double din HU off ebay so got it very cheap (under $500) so if it doesnt fit, at least hopefully i might make a bit of money off it by selling it!

lol whats under your stock head unit is a 1DIN pocket. You can cut it out with a dremel or even an angle grinder if you're careful enough. Failing that you can get a stereo fascia from a KS Verada that has the double din cutout already.

Ballam15, I can probably tell you everything you need to know about the head unit.. but the issue is not your head unit, it's the car. Unfortunately I'm not familiar with the second gen magna set up (they slot straight in to a third gen) however Lucifer sounds like he's on the right track! ;)

anything from the following will allow for a Double DIN HU to be fitted;

Magna Elite
KR Verada (Xi only)
KS Verada (All Models)

on rare occasions you have some later models optioned with the Double DIN CD player and they will have the stock looking black surround with the Double DIN cutout.

oh awesome...do you have any pics you could show me by any chance? did you cut the bottom tray out or did you get a centre thing off a verada?

from memory i made mine a double DIN by just cutting it to pieces and pinning it in from the side....i mean its not going anywhere once its in, its just for practicality of wiring... if you can find some pics of my set up ive got the telly above the HU.
