well as im new i really can not be bothered to go look back and see if there is any posts of this
anyways is there any performance mods that will increase my power that will not blow the budget (meaning nothing like a massive turbo setup)
iv already tried the easy panel filter and i found absolutely no difference!!!

um your bit of a tool for trying to make that pun :P
Either way, it's still recommended to try and search. If you can't find I'm sure someone will help you out, but as you can imagine, everyone who gets a stock Magna and comes to this site will probably ask that same question.
Quick answer:
intakes don't appear to make much difference, including off the shelf CAIs. You might be able to do a custom CAI better which actually provides a benefit.
Rear factory muffler is a restriction - replace it with a redback, lukey or something and you could get a 5% increase in power. You're going to have to do a search here if you want model #s, but search for Lukey and/or redback and I'm sure you'll find it fast.
Extractors from HM are available on-line (ebay) for approx $600? They'll give a bit of an imrpovement. Also for the FWD people (as opposed to AWD) Pacemaker do a set of extractors that work well too, possibly better?
once you've finished modifications, SKR in S.A. can retune the ECU to suit. You can either visit them for best results and dyno tuning or post the ECU for what is apparently still a very good result.
After that, you're opening the engine for more significant mods and prices.
If your next question is suspension mods, then Kings is most commonly used springs, followed by Lovells and lastly (and rarely) Pedders.
K-Mac can also do springs and I'm pretty sure I'll be getting some from them.
sway bars can help next, especially rear. Here you will have to get either a Selby bar, who supplied whiteline and others, or a K-Mac. Many people have the Selby bar, but guess where I'll be going?
Ooh, and Sharkie on here was selling front strut tower braces from Whiteline. I fitted one of these to my AWD and it made a noticeable improvement.
It probably shouldn't have been the first thing on my list as the rear sway bar would give more bang for buck, but I can install a strut brace myself so did that first.

A nice performance upgrade is to drop the 6g72 and go for a 6g74/6g75. Lots of members have done the conversion and are very happy with the results. The 4ps auto box also saps a lot of power as well, so a manual conversion is another popular conversion, or atleast 5sp tiptronic as the 5sp tiptronic is fairly close power-wise to the manual box.

Where did you get that idea from mate? I've had numerous races down the drag strip (both driving and racing against) with my 4 speed tiptronic matching a 5 speed tiptronic. How about you go for a drive in a manual 3.5L, it's a completely different car

Speak to Irvin (Boozer) and Amin (HRD2GT) if you wish to argue this one :P
And Amin would agree with me that the 5 speed auto box is weak, and that a manual transmission is a much better transmission in terms of driveline loss and driveability.

i can't comment.... I upgraded from a 4spd auto 3.0L to a 5spd manual 3.5L, it is a totally different car
should ask Amin as he had the 5spd tippy and now got the 5spd manual (manual conversion)
but the 4spd is lacking behind the 5spd tippy thats for sure in terms of gear ratio...

how much does it cost to get a manual conversion? and how much work is involved?

If you're up for a couple days in melb (seems to be becoming a tradition) - Check out Mal's prices. Sharkie from Sydney (one of our moderators) is there getting an MC atm. http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=72940

5sp manual and 5sp tippy stock for stock....between 2 members off here...was VERY close, talking less then half a car length between the two. But why bother....do it once, do it right, and do a manual conversion.
Extractors, reflash, cams, do a search

I raced Magtone (5 speed tiptronic VRX, exhaust, extractors, intake, cams + tune) at Willowbank a while ago in my manual Ralliart (exhaust, extractors, intake + tune) So pretty well identical mods, and the race was very close. I just got him off the line and it was pretty well dead even the whole way. I think I ended up running 14.9 and he did like a 15.1.
