Was looking for a Double Din HU from a KL or KW but couldn't find one on fleabay. However, I've managed to locat one from a 380. Are they any good and can they fit into the Gen3?

Well, don't think it has an aux input and misses out on the 6 cd changer - the latter of which makes it inferior to the 'premium' one found in the KL/W. The integrated cd player on the 'upmarket' 380s could be made ipod compatible via a unit that plugs into the back but not sure if this one allows it.

Try a big Magna wrecker like Imlachs they might have some KL/KW 2DIN head units. I put one in my KJ and it definitely made a difference as they had a more powerful amplifier in them.

You cant fit a 380 6 disc stacker in the 3rd gen, the fascia plate is part of the console, as for the Single disc MP3, physically it'll fit fit but all the plugs differ. And you'll also have to get the VIN of any Rada/380 you get it from, and a helpful MMAL worker to get the security code from as well.

Arguably, if you're paying $150 ++ for a KL/KW premium head unit, you might be better off buying a double-DIN (non-DVD screen) Pioneer or similar, for not much more.

The aftermarket (reputable brand ones) will have an even higher powered amp in them, which should translate into a cleaner sound even from the standard speakers, especially if you already have the factory 3-way splits up front.

In fact, without upgrading speakers, I suggest that upgrading the head unit is the best way to improve sound quality
