re 3rd gen Exec headlights into TJ2 AWD with std one piece parras and working bulbs Front indicators & bulbs

also, not sure exactly but I do know the wiring is different between single piece parras and also the hi/lo beam bulbs are H7's in parras not H4's like these are

"When people fit parras to Execs etc they simply change bulbs with same bulb holders - dont they? "

Its seems the above assumption is probably wrong can anyone advise whats required to reverse fit Hella std Exec lights into std parra wiring on a TJ2 AWD?

Cybermonkey believes "Some wiring modification is required when going from these style to parabolics. The wiring for your parabolics may not be enough to power these so ask on the forum. The bulbs from paras simply wont swap over because they are T7's (superior) compared to the T4's in parras. The holders will be different."

What you will need to do is install some H4 sockets as your current wiring will have H7 type plugs, a quick google search will give you the diagrams for both H7 and H4 plugs so you can isolate the correct wires and wire in the new plugs.

Now for the correct info

Clearly you know the bulbs you need so thanks to the above post for such informative information

What you need to do (I have just done this to a Verada harness) is earth the top pin for the low beam

What in simple terms happens with the std set up.....
Low Beam
Common wire is +ive
High beam wire is +ive
Low Beam is -ive

High Beam
Common wire is -ive
High Bean +ive
Low beam -ive

This will fix your problem and allow std lights to be fitted

Read this post, Headlight Relay Harness (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40247), from Heath Young, wiring diagrams for Para -> Hella conversion attached.
