I got a HU put into my ts wagon but the stock 4 inch's in the front dont do it for me.
it has two clarion 6's in the back but they are pretty hagged aswell and to hear them from the front you really gotta fade it alot to the back.

i was thinking about just buying new 4 inch's in the front but is it worth installing some 6's in the front doors?

i dont to spend much money and am not hoping for the best sound ever but just something nice.

how do you think i should approach this?

If you can find a way to install 6.5" splits in the front then go for gold. It will sound a LOT better. If you are on a budget then skip the rear speakers and invest all of the money into the front speakers and an amplifier.

How much did you intend to spend on this upgrade?

hmmm i see.
i was only wanting to spend maybe another 200 dollars or so.
how much cutting and stuff is needed to put some 6.5'' in the front?

Hopefully someone else with a TS can shed light on this.

If you can indeed fit them then it would be a good investment to get these: http://www.shoppingsecure.com.au/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=4

Then later on down the track you can add an amplifier to them if you want better sound and volume.

If you can't fit them then I will find you a nice set of 4" speakers but 6.5" splits will sound so much better.

buy some KS verada door trims which have a speaker pod on the trim itself. take the trim off (5 minutes or less) and mount your speakers to the door itself)

its a good "arvo" job to do but well worth the money. the bigger speakers crap all over the 4's. I SERIOULSY would not waste my time replacing the 4's, just leave them in there.

Verada door trims, visit the wreckers, no more then $30 for the both of them.
if you have manual winding windows though you'll need to just buy the pods themselves and put them onto your door cards as all verada's and elites have electric windows.

Wiring into the doors, pop the grommets out, spray WD40 down them, and slide the wire through, like I said with all the right tools its an afternoon job

Heres a pic of the Verada pods i fitted to my Tr. Very easy job to do. Just cut away door card behind speaker grill and bolt speaker to the door.
