Good morning i need help with the wiring off the central locking system in my car to work with a after market kit, steel mate 838g.

i have a 1998 tf magna sports, i have wired up everything and it all works but the central locking, i have done a 1000 searches and they arnt very helpful, basically i have a two wire system, a white wire that pulses negative on the press off the lock key and a white black wire that pulse negative on the unluck key. both these wires have fuses and come from my steel mate alarm ecu. the other two yellow wires it says to ground.

1> do i ground the yellow wires to the car or the central locking earth wire, i dont think it matters????

2> The central locking unit in the drives side front door, has 4 wires, a black which is a earth, white with red stripe which i found unlocks the system, and a blue stripe red and a blue stripe black. I need to no which wire combination will trigger the central locking to lock and unlock with the system i have.

just looked up the TH diagram and it appears that they have used a single wire system (like many a cursed european cars)
if yours is the same then you will need to cut the W/R wire and insert a changeover relay as follows

if your doing all your connections at the cdl control relay then it would be neater to connect the earths to the relay loom in the drivers kick panel (iirc)

30: CDL Relay W/R wire
87: N/C
87a: Door W/R wire and unlock wire from Alarm
86: B+ from CDL Relay
85: lock wire from alarm

What is the change over relay,
1. what does it look like?
2. how/ what does it do?
3. Where do i get one?

do u know how to wire the central locking from the BEM or the wireless reciever so that i dont need the relays??

Why on earth did you wire up a new system when your car had it from factory?

change over relay is from repco/covs/sca
bosch will be your best best for quality
it is a small 1" cube with a mounting ear and 5 pins 85,86,87,87a,& 30

afaik this is the only way to do this, and ive done a lot of CDL interfaces, in my time
