Hey Guys,

Just wondering if anyone has seen this one on carsales?

http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?R=7748028&__Ntt=supercharged&__Qpb=true&__Dx=mode%20matchany&__Ns=pCar_RankSort_Int32|1||pCar_PriceSort_Decimal |1||pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String|0&keywords=supercharged&__N=1216%201247%201282%201252%201246%204294964597% 204294964374&__Ntx=mode%20matchallpartial&seot=1&__Ntk=CarAll&silo=1011&Cr=0&__Nne=15&trecs=1&__D=supercharged&__sid=1239146764EC

Does anyone know if the owner is or has been a member on AMC? Have any of you guys seen or know any history on the above car?

EDIT: Other than the obvious Sprintex Ownership!!

Any help would be awesome!!

Cheers,

Paul

Is it fair to assume that its had the life belted out of it and that its a good one to avoid?

OR

could it be assumed that anything that could go wrong with the supercharger fitment, probably already has and that it could be a good base for something really special?

i would assume its had its arse flogged for the last 120,000k's. Being the sprintex test mule, it would be pretty safe to say that at one point or another the engine/gearbox would have required a rebuild.

The owner of that car is a forum member. I remember meeting him at the Bushfire Appeal Show n Shine earlier this year but forget his forum username now. I think his brother is also a forum member and he owns a Ralliart Magna but i also forget his forum name.

whats the difference with you flogging it, and the previous owner flogging it??

or is it like a girlfriend thing?? you want to know if it's been flogged before you get to flog it??

cos with cars it doesn't really bother me as long as it's all in good nick.. if it was going to break it would have done so by now!

Haha, you just want to make sure it hasn't had heaps of previous owners, as its always an indicator of massive trouble ahead.

Umm, the owner is none of the above. I'm looking at the car in a few weeks. Selling my wife's 02 SII TJ VR-X and possibly purchasing the Supercharged TL VR-X.
I'll look into the history of the car and speak pretty frank with the owner before purchasing it. Not too concerned with the whole thrashing thing... the car was obviously made to perform above normal use.

Will let you guys know what I think after I meet up with the owner. I'm pretty excite about it, to own a little bit of Magna history would be something pretty spesh... thats why I'll hang onto my Ralliart for as long as I can.

I got taken for a test drive in this back in 07 when it was still a demo for sprintex,1st gear gear was fun but the rest was a bit ordinary IMHO

I'm sure that it's all just speculation and opinion atm. With the owner being an AMC member, i think honesty will be forefront. Still, I'm interested either way.

did they take you around any corners? this wasn't ment to be an sti eater, just something really different.
remember buy a base aurion which goes just as quick.

yes i am bushman under another user name. i had lots and lots of difficulty when i forgot my password then trying to get admin and myself on same page.. change of address with internet and home with coverage issues. my current profile is of my long term car.

i did get some negative feedback about the sprintex car i had so i didn't mention it. Type40 is aware of my concern for people crapping on the car as has happened in a few posts already.

i will tell everyone the same as i told a person that looked at the car today, some of you may see it as stupid but i see myself as a custodian of this car, not an owner.

"FLOGGED" car. Remeber this is a prototype car. MMA still gave a 5/10 warranty, so lots of R&D went into this car for that to happen. i had similar concerns about it but logic prevailed and i asked the question of AAC. The engine was pulled down to make sure it meet MMA engineering tolerances.

History on me, i restore, drive and enjoy my cars. 6 are over 35yrs old that get nore use than the magna. 4 can be driven. Building and rallying cars is my adrenalin, checkoutexcelrally.com.au series . i'm not at the lights.

i bought the "SPRiNTEX" car as a piece history.

What order of MMA backed cars "with a full warranty" would be on peoples must have list?
1. TMR 380
2. ????
3. ?????

I agree Smiley. ;) A totally different package altogether. I'll make up my own mind, but I know people are entitled to their opinions. At the end of the day it's more of a concept car... an idea... that is still a part of Magna history. Gotta start somewhere hey?

If they really wanted to do it right though, they should have built the TJ Ralliart as an AWD Supercharge version. That would have changed everything for Magna!
Well, it's my dream to do so one day in the future... I know it will be a lot of work, but the concept is exciting enough for me to move towards it.

i thought from an engineering perspective, if the front diff froma manual Ralliart could be used on an AWD.

You are right on peoples opinion. your right cause at the moment i go out my front door and there it is, in MY driveway.

New day, new thoughts.

The supercharger will not be sold seperately from the car whilst i own it. just to clarify.

I appreciate all the input from people. i am just middle aged and grumpy (38)

Seeing as there is a run down this way to Phillip Island and if i still have the car, it will be there. If it rains, maybe not (lots of time in keeping car clean).

I am a very frank person which i make no apologese for. Damn i am grumpy.

Smiley,i wasn't ''crapping'' on the car i simply stated that with the test drive i was taken on i didnt think it was worth the dollars hence i didnt end up buying a kit off them.
