When I was buying my car, I got an RACQ inspection done and one of the few problems noted was that there was a rattling in the dash, according to the dealership this was the heater switch so they removed it and told me they were ordering in another one from the US and told me it would take 6 weeks. With the switch removed, whenever the aircon is on the heater is on so basically I cant turn the heater off, so I've been riding around without fans or aircon since I got the car. Anyway those 6 weeks came and went, no word so i called them and they told me they would get back to me which they didnt so I called them this arvo and the parts department told me they didnt have the part but the saleman who sold me the car/organised the replacement part might know, he was sick though so they said he would call me when he returns, though I'm not holding my breath.

Onto my question, what is the heater switch? Is it the climate control module or is is another part somewhere in the depths of the car, I'm asking because there is a climate control unit on ebay and I know that its an easy swap, so if the switch is part of that I might aswell buy that cause having no usable air con is starting to get annoying.

So does anyone know what this switch is, It would be good to get my air-con working.

well it depends on what is missing, is there any parts missing of the controls for fan speed or temp? you should be able to turn the heat down via the temp knob or did they remove the unit with screen altogether??

well the unit is there, and it seems to all work properly, its just whenever the aircon is on the heater is on, so the heater is pernamently switched on.

edit: by switch i think they meant relay switch of some sort considering its all automatically controlled
