hi,
Im looking at putting a towbar on the TW to tow a tinny to the boat ramp. Any ideas on how much it is going to cost me to get one installed? Can anyone reccomend anyone in Adelaide to install one? Also how have you gone with the fwd at the boat ramp??

any advice would be great!
cheers,
dave

Not sure on price.
FWD with a tinny will be fine and one benefit will be that the drive wheels probably won't be on the slimier lower sect. of the ramp.

Really depends on what you are after. Normal or heavy duty. Removable hitch or permanant. My 1600kg square removable hitch costed by just under $300 from ATB, Allins Tow Bar, back in 2005. I think it is much more now. If you have an RAA membership, they offer 10% discount (which I forgot to use at the time ). Also, whether you want the plug on the outside, next to the towbar or inside the boot and run a flat cable out with the plug when needed.

id only be needing a normal bar. Probably with a removable hitch, with the plug inside the boot i reckon.

I picked up a Standard tow bar (complete with tongue and ball) from the wreckers for $40, another $50 to Mitsubishi for a genuine wiring adapter and about $12 for a plug from Supercheap.
If you drop the muffler down a couple of inches by unhooking the 2 rubber mounts, it is pretty easy to fit the bar on without removing the bumper.

I got a qoute from a place in vic for a towing hitch and it was around $600 fitted i believe. I cant currently find the email, but im sure it would be around that. Just got to some places online and send them an email.
