So last night a possum decided it would duel against my car :tantrum:

After the massive saga of car vs. possum, i now have a broken front skirting, the RH piece, LH piece is fine.

Just wondering where would be the best place to get a replacement part, would Mitsubishi have these? also some of the plastic undercarriage got damaged as well. Possum thicker than the cars height :(

Taaaa,
Shaun

Eeee I wouldn't see mitsubishi about VRX pieces, they are pretty expensive. Called them once about a fog light surround and it was around the $198 mark.

well from what my uncle said, apparently i can take it in to a repair center and they can reweld the plastic or something.

then i'd only have to get it resprayed maybe

Yeah it's amazing what a good plastic welder can do. I cracked my ralliart front bar about half way down, got it plastic welded for $50 and couldn't even tell. Depends where you got damaged though as I can imagine the vrx skirting is a little finicky, but definitely get it checked out, will work out cheaper in the end.

yea i assume it would have been more worse off if it was only a one piece. I'll take a pic soon

If needed, you *could* get a fibreglass clone from carmate.

Pending interest, I am looking to getting moulds made up for the VRX foglight surrounds to be done as fibreglass units to supply to those that need them on AMC. The aim being to get prices down to something much better than $198 per side.

Theres a guy on ebay that does them fo $150 a pair last time I checked, not sure if he still does them. Keen on updates on this, let me know when you know more about it :D.

If it's the lower half of the bar, I think you'll find that its fibreglass. Which, depending on how badly its damaged, can be repaired. I snapped one of my joins on my VR-X bar in a parking mishap and had it fixed for $150 + bar respray. I snapped mine pretty cleanly though - if you 'broke' yours it may be worth sourcing a replacement skirting. Best bet would be to hit up your panel beater and see what they'd recommend.

Haha, that's exactly what happened to my bar!

Like I said, it cost me $150 to get it fixed (without paint). The repair and a full respray of the bar it was about $600 all up. However, if your paint's in good nick, my panel beater said that he could have fixed the crack up from behind, eliminating the need for painting (although you'd still see a thin outline of the crack up close).

mines cracked like yours but on the otherside, ive been told that it can easily be plastic welded

UPDATE

Apparently because the bar behind it is broken as well, fixing it wont be too good or something.

I went to a place this morning, $1000 clean to replace r/h lower section and bar and spray :S
