hey,
the other day whilst i was driving my temperature gauge went right up,
i got out to have a look and everything was its normal temp.
so i continued driving.
i was hoping someone could tell me or show me a diagram where bouts the Thermostat is.
and how much a new one would be?
cheers.
The thermostat housing should be located between the lower radiator hose and the engine block (Where the hose is bolted to the block). I'm not sure on prices for a new one - However I have been told Magna thermostats are quite expensive for some reason (Mine was $65 inc gasket to give a basic idea).

ahhh ok cheers for that, might go to the wrecjers and see what i can pick up.
:)
The wreckers may not be the best choice if you are looking for a thermo - if it's been try for too long it may have rusted and seized. If you do find one and it works make sure to replace the gasket at minimum.

4cyl or V6? if its a V6 its at the end of the top radiator hose. New thermostat and gasket is like $25. get some Blue RTV while your there too to seal the gasket I like to use it just to be safe for no leaks
4cyl, no idea.

on the V6 it's visible from the front. it's shaped sort of like this; <O> but obviously without the spaces. just follow the top radiator hose.
On the V6, it's located directly beneath the fuel line connection to the fuel rail. you need to remove the fuel line to be able to access the thermostat housing.
blue RTV isnt as good as Copper RTV as the blue one is effectively a silicone and the Copper has a different chemical composition. Anyway, make sure you get another thermostat gasket and ensure you've put the RTV on BOTH sides of the gasket
