ok if u read my other thread today i have been taking the door trims off in preparation for some new 6 inch speakers.
This is what i did after taking the door trims off:
Unscrewed the left stock speaker (which has not worked since i have had the car)and removed.
Wired up another old 6 inch speaker (out of my brothers old car) to test if it was just the stock speaker which wasnt working all this time.
Turned on head unit and discovered this speaker wasnt playing just like the stock one.

ok, so i decide to look into it further later and go to uni. Going to uni i turn my stereo up a bit and just as it got a little but loud, STATIC and DISTORTION something chronic. Sounds absolutely terrible.

Sub and 2-channl amp running it seem to be working fine. 6x9s and fronts are running off the head unit, so im thinking its the head unit which is the problem.

Anyone have any clues what it might be?

ok im just stupid.
turns out it was happening cos i had removed the stock speakers and just left the wiring dangling around near the door.
new 3-way 6 inch pioneers are now in, obviously sounds a lot better than the old stock front ones but i thought they would of sounded better to be honest. oh well
