Hi to all, in our new 2nd gen the radio is locked and I have to enter the code. Now I don't have the code and the people we got the car off can not remember it. How can I get this code? Any help would be great. Also this is in a TS elite with the fancy radio.
Thanks. Brett.

Ring your local Mitsubishi dealer (or any dealer)

Give then your VIN number located in the Engine bay on your Firewall (Eg, 6mmtsXXXXX)

And they will tell you what the code is.

***Edit** thats assuming its the original radio, if its not the original possibly someone has written the code on the unit itself (could be worth a check)

Being NSW that may not work - He may need additional info, if so the system is amazingly flaws as our rego stickers have the VIN number printed on them.

EDIT: Deleted my own post cos it was in Tech Torque (noticed this after posting) and I added little value.

Thanks for that, I will give it a go. It has got the original radio still. I looked under the ash tray and differant bits to see if it had been written down but no luck. I didn't take it out and have a look.

Thank you for the offer. If I have no luck with the dealer I would be gratfull if you could do that. I would hate to have to take the original unit out because of the code crap.

Cheers.

Did the car come with the manuals etc. in the glove box? Sometimes it's written in there

Hi mate, no books and the original owners lost them. My luck!

I rang a dealer today but they didn't get back to me.

I assume it's the same as getting a key code number. You must take the registration certificate to any Mitsubishi dealer.
That's how it works in Victoria. I'd be worried if they gave out that info over the phone!

hi there

in NSW, i rang up Mitsubishi Customer Assistance on 1300 13 12 11. they asked me to fax a copy of the rego papers through to them, and rang me back shortly afterwards with the PIN

hope this helps :)
