I was told it'll improve my fuel economy, but will it really?
My fuel economy is really bad right now, I'm getting about 400ks out of a full tank :(

400km's is about average mate. I'm lucky if I get 400-450 if I drive like a Nanna, usually it's around 350 because I like to give my car a boot.

can we quote fuel economy in L/100KM's instead?
km's to a tank is such a vague figure prone to variation mainly due to the fact that:

no one ever fills their tank with the exact same about of petrol as another person
No one ever runs their tank to empty

so when someone quotes "x amount of km's to a tank" it's always just a rough estimate...

My 2000 Sports (tippy) bounces betweel 11-13L/100kms depending of driving style and freeway/city driving.

There's a thread for fuel economy discussions, it's located here.

My SC'd AWD is showing 7.9L/100km atm!! lol The trip computer is trying to scale back my 470cc's so the duty cycle is near nil during cruise, not an actual measure of fuel econ. But always shocks the bum off anyone i show, esp a falcadore owner ;)

Seriously thou, slight changes to driving style can make good gains, clean out your pvc valve and lines, high flowed tb is good on an auto, keep your air and fuel filters clean, what rear muffler do you have? The straight-thrus offer a touch better economy. Stop using e10 (FACT!).

sorry, on a really good week, ive seen mine down to bout 8.5L/100kms, normal weeks i try to have it under 10... and a bad week it is only bout 11L/100kms... thats nets me bout 600-700kms on a full tank normally...

EDIT: i run it full to empty (not completely obviously, but as much as possible...) as my fuel guage doesnt work, gotta replace my sender, i just go by the "fuel total" in the trip computer, refuel when it gets to 68-70 litre used... who needs a guage? LOL

Hi, when i put a pod on my 96 magna i noticed that it gave off a nice sound and i think it slightly changed the sound of my exhaust. i didnt overly notice power gains but i noticed better respose to the throtal. as for fuel economy i didnt notice anything magnas in general are rather good on fuel. (well the manual ones)

Rather than mocking you could offer your knowledge to these guys.

I guess. There's so many threads on here about this exact same subject, and it comes up probably every week or two. There's literally hundreds of threads on here about it, yet it keeps getting talked about over and over. The same answers are said each time by people on this forum who know something about cars. Then there'll be someone who will say something like, "I put a POD on and my fuel economy improved, gave me more power, then I used 98 octane and got even more kms to a tank!" It's hard not to take the piss.

If you want fuel economy, drive more economically, take all unwanted stuff out of your car to reduce the weight of your car. Make sure your car is serviced regularly, and if you're really desperate, fork out the money for a tune.
