Hi all, looking at buying a TL Magna that has been lowered.King super lows at front and lows at the rear.

Now most of the time it will be just myself in the car but will occasionally have to let the wife and 3 kids in:woot:

Will this be a problem if carrying a family of 5 and some luggage in the boot.? Apparently ,Pedders shocks were installed at the same time as the lowering was done but am concerned about being too low.

What do you fellas think?

Thanks

hey mate i'd PM Maggie3.5 because he was running superlows in his car (which are currently on my car) and lugging the family around in it, was pretty damn low when fully loaded! Personally I'd look at swapping the front springs over to lows too if you're going to have a full car a lot of the time, but if it's only every now and then you should be alright with the SLs in the front

edit: btw welcome to the club mate

I have lows in the front of my TE and between the SL and L is about a finger and a bit thickness... so Low in the front would be the go if you still want that low look. I still scrap on some things if I am not carefull so its only going to end in disaster I would think being on SL and with 5 in the car

I've got Lows all around, but they sag a bit with a load (a car full of mates and a boot full of luggage) - it actually tucks tyre at the back. Having said that, it still rides fine, doesn't scrape on anything (the front bar will be the lowest part of your car) - and that's with a bodykit too. I'd say you *should* be fine.

Thanks for your help fellas! So by reading a few threads on this,I could go to lows on the front for around $150 -$200ish if the superlows were a problem??

The 2 other issues are dodgy fuel gauge[assuming sender unit] and rear vision mirror vibrates.

Would you think the mirror vibrating be due to possible problems associated to the lowering of the car?

Bare in mind I havent seen the car as yet[tomorrow] but looking for some advice before I check it out and hand over my hard earned.

Thanks again!

I run the SL/L Combo, and don't have any drama's. I had 3 big guys in my car on Saturday with my audio gear and LPG tank with out a problem.

The car will be a lot more uncomfortable lowered ( SL or L) than stock anyway. Lows won't make any real difference in that area.

As for the mirror, shouldn't move at all.

If you find it too low new springs are ~$110 a pair and easily changed in an arvo if your an DIY mechanic. Oh, and you'll get half that back selling the old ones here ;)
Dodgy fuel sender is a common problem. About $100 for a new one. Guide here (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=52489&highlight=fuel+sender) to change it.
Rattling mirror is also common. Easy to change, not sure about new cost, second hand about $40.

I wouldn't let any of the above sway my decision about buying a car, it's all easily put right. Rather makes for more bargaining power :)
