Hey guys, new here but im loving all the info im getting about Magnas :)

Just a quick audio question.

I just bought my car, now it was quite a deal (for a dealership) But the one problem was the CD player was bust. Now it turns on, antenna goes up. But, it gets no reception...No FM or AM channels work. Now im not too fussed about the radio. But! The CD player is also not working. I put a CD in and it just swallowed it then showed an error :S and wont give it back! lol

Any tips would be good :) But its just a cheap as hell Sound 4 brand. So, im looking into getting a new head unit in there very soon. Anyone have any links handy for proper head unit install for a 99 TH Exec? I have got it all out before...but i feel it could have gone smoother lol

Thanks for any help!

Hey mate, I had a similar problem with my TJ when I got it (AM radio only, CDs were moody to play) so I just replaced it.

I used this guide for taking apart the console: http://members.optusnet.com.au/miltonf/car/mitsu/console/stereoremoval.htm

There is also an Aerpro harness available for the Magna which will cost you about $20 max. This allows you to join the CD player wiring to a plug which will just plug straight into the factory loom. The wires on the harness are all colour matched to the head unit wire colours so its just a case of joining the same coloured wires together. This allows you to do the soldering on a bench, instead of in the vehicle. Well worth the investment IMO.

Yes, the Aerpro wiring harness are well worth the money! I have one too, but if there is already another HU in there, is the factory plug still there, or was it cut off with the previous install?
