G'day

Since I have owned my TJ sports (ie 12 mths) every now and then the engine will totally loose power , the engine and TCL warning lights will come on and when checking the diag code it is 12 saying the Airflow Sensor is the problem.

Recently it seems to be getting worse, generally it may only last a couple of seconds or so.

Any help ?

Has any work been done underhood or underdash prior to the problem? I.e. installing a pod filter, changing plug leads etc. Any corrosion on the airflow meter terminals or in the plug - that little orange gasket has a bad habit of falling out when the lead is removed, if not reinstalled water and hell can get into it. Check the cable for 'new' or moddified electrical tape that may indicated a patch up or broken wires that were hidden or repaired previously.

No to all of that :) Gasket is there, no corrosion etc

Any other members live near you that you could swap maf sensors with? At least eliminate it in one swoop.
