Hey everyone,

I ordered a set of grilles from Mitsubishi the other week and I think they gave me the wrong parts!!:eek2:

Now this is what the chrome grilles should look like:

They gave me the TW inserts instead of the TL ones didn't they? Just wanting someone to confirm this for me :cry::cry:

the KL / KW Chrome grilles - chrome on the verticle slats and along the curved surround lower sections - no longer available. (in the carsales picture linked)

I believe that they gave you GTVI grilles with the chrome along the curved edge.

I know for sure, that the KL R/H Grille, is most definately no longer available new from mitsubishi - i searched many a dealership, and had my dealership do much searching also (car reversed into .... twice....)
4months ago, the L/H Side (Passengers) KL Grille, was still available new from mitsu, quantity avail though, unknown.

you could do it yourself with the chrome strips that you can buy from autobarn?

Yes correct. L/H is available but not R/H. Graham tried for about a year and gave up trying months ago.

wow, i really need to change dealers..this is the 3rd time they have stuffed me up with parts. I specifically asked for the ones that would fit on a normal tl and the guy was like "yes yes yes":tantrum: Hopefully I can get a refund..if not ill have to try and sell these things :(

Well I was hoping for a more clean stock look but I might have to reconsider the good ol' chrome tape

Guys, with the GTVi AWD grill, like that on mine, if you are careful and patient, you can scrape away the charcoal paint to reveal shiny chrome underneath. Bits of paint on my grill has come off due to stone chipping to reveal shinny chrome. It I have time, I'll take some photos to prove it.

How would chrome powder coat go on the black grill? Would stone chips be an issue? or how about getting them hard chromed?
