TE/F's use the 'peanut' shaped remote. I'm not sure if the remote coding process is the same for all the models.
Just to make 100% sure that you're doing it right, the process I used to code my remote was:
-Turn key on and off till hazards flashed
-Hit red button on remote (try the only button on yours) and the lights should flash again
-Code all the remotes you need coded by hitting the button then take the key out.
Good luck mate.

or the battery is dead on the remote
If the remote you have has the green and red buttons, then it won't work because those are for the TH onwards.

My TE didnt come with a Remote either.. So I bought a Genuine Mitsu Keyless Remote with just the one button
off ebay and I couldnt be happier with it. I paid $105 incl Postage which i think is worth it for a Genuine part.. i think
there is a few on Ebay at the moment. Go have a look. :)
They're around $65 brand new from Mitsubishi. For some reason they're way overpriced on eBay. My TF didn't come with a remote so I bought an aftermarket alarm off eBay for $100 which had a multitude of features including keyless entry. It's a bit tricky to install so could be pricy if you pay someone to do it. Far more value for money than buying a genuine remote though.

As the other guy posted, get a quote from mitsu for a remote before buying ebay spec or gettin an alarm.

Most dealers run a spare parts department. Shouldn't be difficult to find one on the gold coast?

yeah i might do a google maps search. also does anyone know how hard it is to install a car alarm themself?
Installing remote central locking is easy, you just have to connect two wires. Wiring up all the alarm features is more involved. Wouldn't recommend it unless you're comfortable with electronics - soldering/reading wiring diagrams.

I just called Northshore Mitsubishi in Sydney and they quote $92 for a genuine TF remote - $65 sounds much better, which dealership quoted that?
