Can someone tell me what type and size pipe fittings are used on the third gen auto transmission?

pipe is 5/16?
Fittings - AN,NPT?

I'm planning to put in a transmission cooler but I what to run the line in tubing rather than hoses.

Is there any reason why you want to use pipe instead of hose?

Metal tubing will look better, be less likely to leak and assist in further cooling the oil. To do this in hose there is still an element of pipe cutting and flaring so at least this way I can make it a bolt on, Reversible mod. My next stop will be a wreckers if no one can help.
