Hey, I've pilfered a few badges from a TJ. What's a good method for removing the sticky stuff off the back? I've dabbed a little metho on it and slowly worked most of it off but would love a quicker method :)

Use "Mr Sheen" mate. Took me a whole 20 secs after removing mine completely and have it look perfect with just a bit of Mr Sheen and a scourer.

Hahaha.... well, I got them from the wreckers. Came across a TJ Sports from which some girl had pilfered the wing. Tail lights were in good nic.

The best thing I have found to remove sticky stuff is a product called De-Solv-It. It's a Natural Citric based solvent with a cartoon Orange-Man on the bottle. I use it to remove any left over rego sticker from my windscreen, and it works an absolute treat, better than Metho IMHO. The bottle says you can use it on ANY surface, including skin. And it smells like Cointreau!

white spirits, turps, even baby oil will do it... anything that is a solvent and not an alcohol.

yes, i recommend De-solv-it as well. it is a fantasitc product. just let it soak into the adhesive for a bit, and eventually it just wipes off.

CRC-556 ? or WD-40 will disolve most sticky-backs.

This stuff's pretty thick. Think I'll stick, (pun not intended :bowrofl: ), to turps and elbowgrease.
