View Full Version : Left side accelerator pedal
I just bought a second hand car from an elderly man fitted with left side accelerator pedals. I don't have any other photos other than these for now as the car is located 1600km down the coast.

Is that the pedal in the photos? It looks like it's operated by the knee. Just wanting to know if I need a permit or something to have this in car, and how hard it will be to remove.
Has anyone here had any experiance with these in a magna?

How about some better photos lol
That black thing to the left under the steering wheel is what I'm pointing at. So that's not the pedal? Is removing that braking controller as easy as unscrewing it and disconnecting the wires?
Car is in Brisbane getting a mod done on it before I pick it up next week, so no photos.

yes thats an electric brake controller for trailers. just unscrew it and disconnect the wires. insulate each wire unless it has a connector plug.
Oh cheers. Sorry.. I don't know where I got the idea that was lefty pedal. Just done a quick google and she's all sweet. Thanks White for the help.

Not sure I'd want to buy a Magna that's been towing stuff heavy enough for electric brakes. The gearboxes don't like it too much.
Has a Hayman Reese towbar, so I'm guessing the braking controller is from the same mob. The old guy said it done a bit of towing in the first few years of its life, just small random trips with a campervan. But he's faling apart, so it's just a commuter these days. It's been going strong the past few years, and the history is better than what you'd find in most cars. I'm confident it was a good buy.
