isnt that comming from the Air vents?
nah its a sort of squeak the rear window is real distinct if you pull up our drive (slight incline)
you can hear the body flex againest the rubber or seal compound . The front niose is more when you go over bumps but is a similar noise ????

I've had the recall done on my tj.
There's a sticker that they put on it saying the recall has been done - campaign number 020028. I wanna take mine off as I can see it every time I open the door.

No idea actually. They said there's was a recall when I was bringing in the car to fix a few things under warranty and I just let them fix it. Didn't notice if the windows were replaced. If they are going to replace the windows , its all good i suppose. Try calling Mitsu and quote the campaign number I gave to see what is actually fixed.
I also had an unrelated problem with the drivers side mirror and had to get the entire unit replaced at the same time. Only recently noticed they didn't match the paint properly. bastids. out of warranty now.
yeah wookie contacted mitsi about the recall and quoted your campaign no. and was told that recall did not apply to the sports models? dunno why but still have to wait two weeks for the rear window. Still lookin to see if anyone can shed some light on the window recall. And mitsu said the wookie recall was to replace the drivers side electric window motor dunno if this is the case or not

I believe there was a recall due to the incorrect primer being used on a few production line runs
The windows in most new cars form part of the structure of the car, thus if the sealant is not working properly it may come loose.
Wookie, your mirror, if they replaced it under warranty and the colour is out go them as it will be a workmanship issue.

Even if its out of warranty now?
My windows are electric. Are the sports manual? I remember reading on the "invoice" that the repair had something to do with electric windows.
The windows on the sports are eletric too but they reckon my model doesnt have that prob dunno if they found out before mine was made but it is a 3/03 model basically the sports is exactly the same as a vrx cept for body kit,17" wheels and some interior cosmetics :D

Mines a 12/00 model. It must have been a bad batch. I hope that's all that is wrong with it. Good luck with the windows.
Just an update had my windows replaced bout two weeks ago and guess what no more squeaks yah! :bowrofl: lol

When I bought my '01 Sports, the guy said he'd had two rear windscreens replaced under warranty due to a squeaking noise. It apparently was a sealant problem, but the trouble is, the noise is still there  , although I must admit I don't notice it that much these days  , so I'm not sure I'll bother getting it fixed for a third time( even though my car is still under warranty- it came with a 5yr warranty, so maybe). Also, I had trouble with my passenger side power window, which surprised the Mitsu. guy when I took it in to have the assembly replaced, as he said it's usually the drivers side that gives problems(usually something to do with the switch mechanism I think he said) . So down the track maybe.................

well funny that... i just came on to start a topic about this but there was one already started... i took my 2002 KJ MY02 Verada in for its 75000km service the other day and for ages i have noticed a rattling noise coming from the back. I finally came to the conclusion that it was the back windscreen and i said to them when i took it in for a service that there was a rattling noise from the back windscreen and for them to fix it under warantee. Anyways when I picked up my car later that day they told me that they had re-sealed it but it was the wrong windscreen fitted to the car in the first place. Apparently they had a recall to replace them and because i bought my car second hand i wasnt aware of the recall and neither was the previous owner (obviously) and he sed that the windscreen couldnt be replaced under warantee because they had already had a recall. So if i wanted the proper windscreen for the verada i would have to pay for it but he sed that i wouldnt need it becuase they put a new sealer in it that mitsu made for people that missed the recall...now i cant hear a rattle at all (apart from CD Cases in the console going over rough roads)
