Almost identical to mine, even the way its installed with the outer bracket, very good units. Mines the 5550MP model, whats the difference between the 5550MP and 5650MP unit?

I am a little rusty with the Audio scene but on first glance I thought you had a stacker hiding in the boot or something until I saw the second photo where the front panel is down. What am I looking at there? I can see what looks like the CD opening in the second pic but not on the first, does that panel actually drop down be able to put the CD, in cos I cant see the opening on the front panel. Boy I have been out of it for a while. Can someone edumacate me please! :belt:

i don't own a pioneer HU, but by the looks of things, i think both of the have a flip face where there's a hole in teh back where u can shove ur cd in. most H/U are compatible with an extra unit, whether it be stacker, tv or whatever......i'm against flip faces coz they take extra effort to change a cd, but some say they look better...

Its a fairly bright blue light, illuminates quite well at night, Available at Big W.

the cd player has a flip down face, on the second picture you are looking @ the cd player with the face flipped down, when the face is flipped down thats where you can put in cds and take out cds, then you flip the face back up :), i know the pictures are blurry but im a ****ty photographer. The actual face doesnt have an area to put a cd in, it takes it all for presentation, so yes you do have to flip down the face to put cds in n take em out....so all in all..you were right on your final assumptions :)

ice warrior : that was the model i was gonna get, but i kinda wanted sub control has my previous car had a fully decked out stereo with no sub control, was a pain in ass to change the bass levels for the sub as i had to go straight to the amp,

asylum: have you done this to your car? if so got some pics, i would like to see how it turned out.

The pioneer 5550MP model, which is what I have, has sub control, very good unit in my opinion, RRP $599 when I bought mine about 4 months ago, although I got mine a bit cheaper as it was on special :) .

i got mine for 395 cause its now an older model, the new one was released a while back

i believe there are LOTS of ppl here with painted consoles, dials etc...i want to do my centre console sooner or later (in silver) :badgrin: , depending on how much time i have lying around.

Im not a fan of painted consoles, it depends some look great some look dodge. If your going to do it do it right with sanding, primer, paint, gloss etc etc etc

As for pioneer, you can't go past their head units :bowrofl:

I've got a full pioneer setup but i do regret their speakers, they are over rated. For speakers look at some lower end MB_Quartz or Alpines in my opinion...

I have a pioneer head unit also. Just wondering, as the face is detachable, wat would happen if you changed the face with say a higher or lower model pioneer HU face. Would it work? dumb question i kno.....but its late :nuts: :D

heres a dumb answer for you...yes :D

but if i was to be smart about this one.......then no it wouldnt work :P, mixing a 45X 4 face with a 50 *4 deck isnt smart, do you think mp3 decks would work with a non mp3 face?, or the other way around, maybe a mp3 face would somehow change the laser to read mp3 :)
