I just noticed that when I move the mirros up or down they also move to the side a bit, is this normal?

Are you pressing on the switch dead centre or a bit on the corners as well. Could also be a sticky switch problem.

I am pressing dead up and down, just wated to see if anyone else had this problem, or knew of a common problem.

I'll check it out again tonight and see how I go

because the mirror is on an angle it's always going to look like it moves a bit to one side when you move it.

I don't know if your mirror is really moving side to side though.
