Hi all,

i have a TW and im having trouble with the factory alarm. It keeps going off randomly (sometimes at 3am!!!!). The funny thing is i dont even turn it on. Both my remotes have fallen apart thanks to there sh*t house design so i just use the key to lock and unlock the car. Ironically, ive been getting false alarms on my house as well so you can imagine how popular i am with the neighbours right now :)

Anyway does anyone else have this problem? Is there a way to disable the alarm all together? I thought of disconnecting the horn but i really need that for my road rage incidents!

thanks

Faulty door trigger???? I had that problem with mine a bit but fixed it by changing the door triggers over.

Could also be a boot trigger or bonnet trigger if you have them too

cool thanks.. my bonnet latch is a little loose.. maybe the wind is making it flap around. ill look into it.. so about disabling it, anyone got any ideas? The people that install after market alarms would surely disable the factory one??

Replace with one from the wreckers mate, or depending on how the switch works, you could just short out the wires and close the circuit to deactivate it

I had a similar issue with my bonnet one. I inplugged in at the back of the switch and never happened again..:P That was on my 02 TJ VRX.
