Hi guys, last week went to work and on the way my tf v6 wagon suddenly started to run extremly rough, any atempt to accelerate above 1000 rpm was making it even worse. At idle was shocking but I managed to drive small distance at speed of 15 km otherwise it would cut off. It all started few months back with the rough idle but at driving was good, I was never able to discover what was wrong. Changed lot of thing such as plugs, leads, few exhaust and intake gaskets, cleaned the throtle body and played with sensor, cleaned the air flow meter, cleaned the distributor and bought o2 sensor but nothing has fixed my problem. So I decided to drive it untill it stop and that's what happend and now I can't start the fricking thing. Has anybody had simular problem, any help is appreciated.

Fuel pump or filter - connect the jumper under the bonnet (firewall) to battery positive and listen at the tank to see if it runs. If it runs, try starting the car.

Alo check the MAF plug and socket for grot, give it a clean - on airbox.

Read the error codes!

MAF (mass air flow) plug is fine and its very clean. Can you just explain the jumper, is that a two pin connector with cover on left hand side next to small relay box, and connect with battery + terminal. Also, do you know anybody with the code reader so we can check for codes?

MAF will not stop the car, will run like crap and bring on the engine light

What area are you in bud, may be able to come over with some goodies and do some tests for you

Still haven't fix my magna, after reading a forum with people experiencing similar problems it makes me beleive it could be ECU, relays or crank angle sensor not sending spark. So I had a look the ECU and it seams to be very dry and clean inside but I have no idea how the check if is working. Today I will check if the plugs are sparking and I will try to check the relays but not sure the right way of doing it. One interesting thing I notice, if I try to crack it few times it wants to start but still fails when I than check the spark plugs they are very fuel wet. I will let you all know how I went.
Madmagna I was wondering if you still interasted of coming down, it would help me a lot to finaly fix it?

Hey, it is about an hour and a half each way for me to come there so sorry but, unless I am over that way for something I will need to give a miss in coming over

However, I do have a ecu, immob and matching key here you can purchase if this is the cause of your woes

Good news people, I had a ignition coil and power transistor checked as per repair manual and it was faulty, so I had it replaced with a second hand one (complete distributor) last night and firtst crank car started. It still idles a bit rough but not as much. I will try to retrieve any faulty codes from ecu using engine check light flashing method by earthing pin 1 of diagnostic plug to body and see if anything else if not working correctly.
