I'm sure it's down near the bumper with the filter. Looks quite like the RPW gear.

No, I'd just say that's his attempt. Quite possibly had no idea what the RPW stuff looked like.

He made it all entirely himself. I asked him at the drag meet. He said all his own work and the MAS sensor is down enar the filter i think he said. VERY solid construction and gave a VERY nice loud sucking noise. :D

just that cold air setup has taken his quater mile time from 15.7 to 15.4........not bloody bad for a few bucks and a little time

It would just be a matter of cutting the harness in half and lengthening each wire. Just make doubly sure to wire it up correctly.

THSmoker your my hero lol , you have single handedly inspired half the AM community to try their own CAI setups, I know I will try, much cheaper (and more fun) than the K&N unit :D

Wow dude, and you are having no problems with the Auto? You need to write up a step by step article on it for idiots like me who know nothing about it!! Wouldn't have a clue about that sensor thing or where it goes  . Well done dude, CAI for under $300 with pod :D  :booty: :bowrofl: THsmoker

if it rains, don't drive into puddles! suck a bit of water vapour is not going to hurt, but liquid is going to make some nasty sounds from the engine bay.

Didn't someone say your can buy the prefilter material from K&N seperate, supposed to reduce the chance of water entering the filter, EuroAccord13 has a filter fitted with this :D

Not sure of the price, I'll have to drop into my old man's work and find out. I will soon, just money's tight for me at the moment and petrol is low lol :P
Aluminium tubing, I'm not sure...
Fitting together, well as long as you get the right sizes they will just slide together.
The pod would sit at the bumper, and it would connect up to the stock TB, yes.

next i want to put a air temp guage just before the t/b

That is one Fantastic Set Up you got there.. IT IS A SERIOUSLY NICE LOOKING KIT you've got there! Should have asked you to do mine :P rather than me buying the whole set from the USA....
As for the Hydrolock issue.. yes, a little water is fine.. go through a puddle and you have to call the tow truck.
For my Drycharger, IT DOES not stop water from getting in, it stops water from splashes only. When I take the filter out for a wash, I'll run the DryCharger through water and see what the penetration is. I'll keep you all informed about it.

TH Smoker....Looking forward to the tech article. Im sure blake would wanna put it up on the tech articles page. :D
I really am enspired to build my own now instead of getting a k&n panel...esp for around $200. Its such an awsome system...love it, looks sooooo nice. Hmmmm, hopefully i can get the CAi built and a full Cat-Back redback exhast for under $500. But then again i think im pushing it....
Any problems with the rubber and the engine temperature??? Fuel consumption better? Throttle response? Car running rich? lean? Any prob's with that?
I cant wait....

With some inspiration from THSmoker i've finally got off my butt and installed the CAI. :D :D :D
After 2 hours and black gritty hands, It was finally done. I had to race against time as the sun was setting. WEnt for a test drive and it was amazing... can't say that it was more powerful, but the noise and the suction you get from it was pure awesome!!!

So does your car have an air con?
I just pulled apart my factory stuff to check to see what was needed and noticed that my reciever drier is right where you and RPW seem to be sending your pipework:rant: .
Anyway that might be the end of that mod for me:rant: . It really is tight down there. Might have to move my Battery to the boot. This will help in a amp install thought won't it?

dude it looks great and all but please tell me that second pic was taken like that so you could see it before you mounted it up inside the bumper?? also did you make sure the inside of the pipes were completely clean before you sucked air through it, as they are behind the filter remember.

Yes the 2nd pic was taken like that so you could see it before it mounted up inside the bumper, and all the pipe's were cleaned on the inside there just a bit stained from laying out in the yard

ill have a go in a few weeks iv got a TP wagon myself
madness, when you do it can you write up a sheet on what you used like pipes and connecters and where you got them from etc.. it seems rather simple, just move the maf and filter around and extend the piping and i guess i could do it myself but label me lazy, plus im too poor to buy another maf cause if i chop up my car and it dont work then it'd be a waste.. although you dont really have to chop anything do you, just buy pipes and big rubber bends and stuff.. forget i ever posted this..
