Hello,

This is my first post. I have just bought a 2004 TL AWD with LPG installed (on non-LPG compatible engine unfortunately). I think it is a Impco system, so a mixer rather than SVI solution.

Before I bought it I was excited about LPG expecting great economy, but my car consistently uses ~16.5l/100km in city driving, 15.5l/100km on highway. Is that normal or high? If above normal, can it be somehow tuned?

And my car computer is inaccurate, it that also to be expected with a non SVI gas solution?
Thanks

What does that engine usually get on petrol?

The mixer systems are far inferior to vapour injection.
If LPG was a bit dearer it would cost more to run than on petrol, in some places in Aus it is.

That is about right. I continuosly get around 400 klms from around 58 litres. It is still cheaper than running on petrol but still not as good as i hoped but mine is well and truly paid for after 50,000 klms on gas.

That would be 14.5l/100km. Much better than mine but then, I drive the AWD, maybe that is a difference. I haven't driven enough on petrol yet to say what the petrol economy is.

i get 500ks normal driving (western suburbs) on 68L

I got the converter style too... I see they have the vapour injection kits on ebay (under bonnet) with wiring to tune it and software for around $500... sounds good to me im prbly gona upgrade soon soppose to make all the difference.

I noticed i get more k's wen i fill from Shell. And no its not in my head i tried it many times i get around extra 50ks.
I have a 3.5L manual.

I've got a TW wagon with factory Impco gas, ie, mixer system. About 18-19 l/100km around town, 12.5-13.5 on the open road. I don't drive esp. hard. I've had it checked and it's set fine, they are just thirsty.

Was getting 8.5-10.5 highway cycle from a factory dedicated gas TW sedan(auto) with an Impco Mixer system. The TL AWD with an SVI system runs 11.9-12.5 on highway cycle.
